We are now located in the Historic Kansas City West Bottoms (1219 W. 11th Street; KC, MO 64101) at the corner of 11th Street and Mulberry.  We have over 7000 square feet on 2 floors in a 100 plus year old warehouse.

Our hours are:

Open Every Friday 10 am to 3 pm & Saturday 10 am to 4 pm

& 1st Friday Weekends

Preview sale Thursday 11 am to 2 pm

On Saturday, April 20^th the Independence Square invites you to attend our “GIRLS DAY OUT” event! Girls Day Out is an all day shopping day for the ladies. Ladies grab your sisters, mothers and BFF’s and head to the Independence Square for a day of retail therapy, beauty and fun! This is a day the Independence Square has proclaimed as a day for all women who want to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday tasks and take advantage of special shopping offers, socializing and spending quality time with friends! Many of our retail shops and restaurant’s will offer great promotional discounts, prizes and raffles during the day.


HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

• Women who would like to attend Girls Day Out will need to pre-purchase a ticket online at this site.
• Advance tickets are encouraged. Tickets will be on sale from March 15th through April 19th for $15. Tickets are available at the door for $20 while they last.
• The first 100 ladies to pre-register will receive a FREE reusuable bag along with our special giveaway for the day.
• Several lucky ladies who pre-register will receive a $10 gift certificate to participating businesses. ($10 gift certificates are randomly given away.)

DAY OF THE EVENT:

• Bring your pre-registered ticket to the pick up location at 202 W. Maple. You will be given your special giveaway and information on the event. PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST CHECK IN BETWEEN 10:00AM and 1:00PM to participate! The pick up location is next to Square Pizza on West Maple Street.
• Raffle prizes will be available for the ladies to enter to win.
• From there feel free to venture out to the participating businesses.
• Pink & orange balloons will identify the participating businesses.

NI-CHERN DESIGNS

I started making key fobs about 4 years ago. I took a day off from work one    Friday. I really don't remember why, I think I had something going on. I thought that I would go to Super Target, and get a few things. You know, run errands before stores get too busy.

As I walked by the clothing area, I stopped by and looked around, glanced, picked up a few clothes, put it back on the rack, etc... I walked around the     grocery side, cleaning supplies, etc. After I was done looking, shopping, I walked to the registers, and realized... oh no! my key! where is it?! At this time, my key was just on a split ring, I usually put it on my finger... it was gone! I had absolutely NO idea where I put it! I was panicking! I back-tracked where I walked, looked at the clothes that I looked at, went through the grocery area, the cleaning supplies, etc... no where. I was totally freaking out at this point. I'm a bit paranoid too, I was thinking the worst... what if someone took the key and is stealing my car RIGHT NOW!... totally not probable, but you never know!... right? Ha ha!

I went to customer service, the lady said they'll let me know when it shows up. I was still panicking. What was I supposed to do while I wait for the key just to walk up to the counter and say ‘hey, looking for me?’

So, I called my husband, at least I had my phone on me! He came by with a spare key and I drove home... freaking out to myself.  I seriously called that Target like every half an hour! I was sure that they were tired of hearing my voice!

It was about two hours later, I called again, and they said that they found it. It was hooked onto a hanger! One of the employees saw it when she was putting some clothes back on the racks.  The key must have been on my finger, and it slipped onto a hanger. Oh my goodness! Yes, this is my silly story of losing my key at Target and why I started making key fobs.  Look at these keys…. Taunting me.

My company name, Ni-Chern (pronouced: Nee-Churn), is my Chinese name, which means little girl.  All of my items are hand sewn by me. Styles of fabrics in a specific bag style are all limited because they are all one of a kind! I use materials that I know are good quality and/or condition.

My key fobs are great for keys, but they are also great for all those little rewards cards you get at all the big box stores.

Ugly Glass & Company will be open during SantaCaliGon!  We have had our artists bring in new and unique items just for the event!

STONE CREEK TURNINGS By Eric Bultman

Stone Creek Turnings is a small shop based out of Blue Springs Missouri.  The majority of bowls that we produced are made from wood salvaged from the forest behind our home.  My entire family loves getting into the action when it comes to  finding fallen trees and cutting them into           manageable pieces. 

I have been turning wood for about 5 years and it has turned from a fun hobby into a fun business.  I make bowls, vases, candle holders, boxes, chess pieces and anything else that people can think up.  For the past year and a half I have been selling my work on Etsy and it has been a great experience. 

Ugly Glass & Company is the first opportunity for people to see and touch my work.  If you have any additional questions or want to request a custom order please let me know.

Trunk Show Opportunities

Ugly Glass & Company has a couple of trunk show opportunities throughout the year.  Trunk shows give artists the opportunity to sell at a store front without incurring allot of costs.  Ugly Glass & Company will handle all sales for the artist for a percentage of sales.  The artist is welcome to work their table at the trunk show and tell customers about their work or provide promotional materials at their table.

The artist will be provided one 4 foot table.  Artists provides and sets up the display and the product.  The trunk show will be for two days, occasionally 3, and will coincide with other events happening in our area.  Artists agree to help promote the trunk show before and during the trunk show.  A detailed inventory sheet must be provided to Ugly Glass & Co.

Artists are carefully chosen and Ugly Glass reserves the right to reject any pieces it so wishes.

August 24 & 25 - Camaro Fest on the Square - August 25th.
October 4, 5, & 6 - Girls Night Out - October 4th.
Ocotber 26 & 27 - Haloween Parade - October 27th.
